Remove filler words

Remove filler words and pauses from a video automatically

For talking videos full of ums, uhs and dead air. Tighten cuts them from the speech track on word boundaries, so the video keeps moving without you cutting anything by hand.

How it works

Remove filler words, step by step

  1. 1

    Add a video

Paste a YouTube link or upload an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV. One video takes up to 6 minutes; a longer one is trimmed first or switched to Clips.

  2. 2

    Leave Tighten on

Tighten is on by default in Captions and Producer and for every clip in Clips. Turn it off anywhere if you want every pause kept.

  3. 3

    Canviz cuts the fillers

It works from the transcript's word timings, in the spoken language, and every cut falls on a word boundary.

  4. 4

    Check the summary

The finished video says how much was cut, for example “Tightened −34 s”. Download the MP4 or schedule it to TikTok, YouTube or Instagram.

What you get

What comes out, and what you control

  • Pauses and filler words

Both are removed from the speech track automatically, and the video is cut to match so it keeps moving.

  • Cuts on word boundaries

Tighten works on the transcript's word timings, so every cut falls between words.

  • In the spoken language

Canviz detects the language of the speech and works from a transcript in that language.

  • On by default where it helps

On in Captions and Producer and for every clip in Clips. Off in Reframe, which changes nothing but the frame. Turn it off anywhere.

  • A summary of the cut

The finished video says how much was removed, for example “Tightened −34 s”.

  • Captions and a hook title too

In Captions mode the tightened video also gets word-timed captions in 23 styles and a hook title burned in for the first 3 seconds.
